[00:00:00] All right, and welcome back to Backseat Trivia Rumble. I hope the snacks are open and the volume is up because we've got a heavyweight battle today. In the backseat, the high-flying trapeze artists and the cotton candy chompers. In the front seat, the ring toss champions of the '90s, who now spend their weekends throwing toys back into toy boxes.

Three rounds, 30 questions. Drivers, eyes on the road. Kids, eyes on the prize. Before we get the engine started on round one, we have a very special VIP to celebrate. Let's give a massive happy birthday to Blair in Branchburg, New Jersey. Blair, we hope your special day is the best ever. Happy birthday. Now that we've [00:01:00] celebrated our VIP, let's get down to business.

Let's get ready to rumble with the first kids round. Question one: In a circus, what is the name of the massive, colorful tent where the main circus performance takes place?

And the answer is the big top. Question two: Which famous circus performers wear white makeup, giant red shoes, and silly outfits to make the audience laugh?

And the answer is clowns. I wanted to be a professional circus clown, but I couldn't find a pair of shoes that fit my career path. They were just too big to fill. Question three: What is the name of the high-flying circus act where gymnasts swing from bars high up in the air and catch each other? And the answer is the trapeze.

Question four: What [00:02:00] fluffy, sweet carnival treat is made of spun sugar and looks like a colorful cloud on a paper stick? And the answer is cotton candy. Question five. Which giant gray land animal with a trunk and large ears was historically a star attraction in circuses? And the answer is an elephant.

Question six. What is the name of the performer who walks carefully across a very thin, high metal wire stretched across the ceiling?

And the answer is a tightrope walker. Honestly, my balance is so bad I trip over the pattern on the rug. Question seven: What classic carnival ride features spinning wooden horses or other animals that go up and down while music plays? [00:03:00] And the answer is a carousel. Question eight. What is the name of the massive spinning wheel ride that takes riders high into the air for a bird's eye view of the fairgrounds?

And the answer is a Ferris wheel. Question nine: Who is the master of ceremonies at a circus who wears a top hat and a red coat and introduces each amazing act?

All right, parents, are you ready for round two? Today, we are taking a stroll down the [00:04:00] midway of our childhood to test your knowledge on old school county fairs, amusement parks, and deep-fried treats. Kids, let's sit back and watch those parents do their work. Question one, what is the name of the classic salty-sweet fair snack made of popcorn cooked with sugar, oil, and salt in a large iron pot?

And the answer is kettle corn. Question two: Which classic deep-fried fair food consists of a hot dog on a stick coated in a thick, sweet layer of cornmeal batter? And the answer is a corn dog. Question three: What iconic powdered sugar-covered dessert is made by pouring sweet batter through a funnel directly onto boiling oil?

And the answer is a funnel cake. You know, eating a funnel cake is a lot like adulting. It starts off sweet, [00:05:00] but by the end, you're covered in white dust, your hands are sticky, and you're questioning all your life choices. Question four, at carnivals, what classic game involves throwing a lightweight plastic ring onto necks of glass bottles?

And the answer is the ring toss. I tried to win a giant stuffed bear at the ring toss game, but it was a total rip-off. The game was rigged. At least that's what I tell myself to feel better about losing 20 bucks. Question five: Which classic 1988 movie featuring Tom Hanks features a creepy, glowing antique carnival fortune teller machine named Zoltar?

And the answer is Big. Question six. What is the name of the classic amusement park chain heavily advertised with a dancing old man named Mr. [00:06:00] Six, known for its massive coasters? And the answer is Six Flags. Question seven. What classic carnival ride features two-seater cars that spin around on a rotating platform while the cars themselves tint and spin dynamically?

And the answer is the Tilt-A-Whirl. Question eight: In the late '90s, what neon green, highly caffeinated citrus soft drink from Coca-Cola became a legendary staple of theme park concession stands? And the answer is Surge. Question nine: Which classic carnival game has players roll wooden balls up a ramp to land them in concentric high-scoring rings to win tickets?

And the answer is Skee-Ball. Question 10: [00:07:00] What is the name of the carnival ride where passengers sit in swings suspended by long chains that lift up and spin in a giant circle? And the answer is the yo-yo

We've got two rounds in the books and it's on to the rumble round. First to shout out the answer is the winner.

Question one: What is the name of the walk-through carnival attraction filled with mirrors that trick your eyes and make it hard to find the exit? And the answer is a fun house.
