The kids, the Backyard, all Stars and the future Hall of Famers in the front seat. The parents, the carpool MVPs, who still have the original Karate Kid headband hidden in the glove box and the keepers of the neon soaked eighties movie vault.
Three rounds, 30 questions. Drivers. Eyes on the road. Kids eyes on the prize. Today we are lacing up our cleats and heading to the stadium for sports and famous athletes. We're talking about home runs, touchdowns and gold medals. [00:01:00] So kids get those athletic brains ready. Let's get ready to rumble with the first kids round.
Question one, who is the famous basketball player known as King James, who has won championships with the Heat Cavaliers and Lakers, and the answer is LeBron James. They call him King James. But in the car, the only person who gets to sit on this throne is whoever's lucky enough to have the seat with the extra cup holder.
Question two. What is the name of the player on a football team who is responsible for calling the plays and throwing the ball to the receivers? And the answer is the quarterback. Question three. In the sport of golf, what do you call it when a player hits the ball into the hole in just one single swing?

And the answer is a home run. Question seven. What is the name of the equipment used in tennis that has a handle and a strained frame used to hit the yellow ball?

Question 10. What is the name of the stretchy one piece outfit that gymnasts wear when they're performing on the balance beam or bars? And the answer is a leotard. All right, parents. The kids set a high bar, but it's time for round two. Today we're heading back to the decade of big hair and neon for eighties movies and sitcoms.
Let's see if you can still recall the classics. Question one in the movie Back to [00:04:00] Future. What is the name of the eccentric scientist played by Christopher Lloyd, who invents the time machine? And the answer is Doc Brown.
Question two, what three letter acronym is the name of the friendly alien who just wanted to phone home in the 1982? Steven Spielberg Classic. And the answer is et. Question three.
Who was the wise martial arts teacher in the karate kid who taught Daniel LaRusso? That wax on wax off was actually training. And the answer is Mr. Miyagi. Question four, on the hit eighties sitcom, Alf. What was the name of the planet that the furry Cat Loving Alien came from? And the answer is Melmac.[00:05:00]
Question five in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, what was the first name of Ferris's best friend whose father's Red Ferrari they borrowed for the day And the answer is Cameron. Question six. What was the name of the Boston Bar where everybody knows your name in the legendary sitcom that premiered in 1982?
And the answer is cheers. Question seven, what is the name of the team you should call if there's something strange in your neighborhood and it doesn't look good? And the answer is Ghostbusters. Question eight, which famous archeologist used a bull whipp as his primary weapon and is absolutely terrified of snakes.[00:06:00]
And the answer is Indiana Jones. Question nine, on the sitcom full house, which character was famous for his obsession with Elvis and his catchphrase? Have mercy. And the answer is Uncle Jesse. I'm pretty sure I could still pull off the have mercy if I really tried, but it might hurt my back these days.
Question 10, what was the name of the Jim Henson puppet show featuring characters like Gobo, Mokey, and Wembley, who lived in a series of caves. And the answer is Fraggle Rock. We've got two rounds in the books and it's onto the rumble round. This round is an all play about transportation and getting around.

Question four, what are the long wooden poles called that you use to push and pull a rowboat through the water? And the answer is ORs.

Question six, what are the long metal rails called that a train travels on to get to and from a city A? And the answer is tracks question seven. What is the name of the large spinning blades on the very top of a helicopter that let it fly straight up?
And the answer is a rotor. Question eight. What do you call a large piece of fabric on a boat that is designed to catch the wind and make the boat move? And the answer is a sail. Question nine. What is the name of the big slow powerful vehicle used on farms to pull heavy equipment like plows? And the answer is a tractor.
