I hope the snacks are open and the volume is up because we've got a heavyweight battle today in the backseat, the frequent flyers and the Wright brother wannabes in the front seat, the minivan, astronauts, and the morning commute navigators three rounds, 30 questions, drivers eyes on the road.

Kids eyes on the prize before we get the engine started on round one, we have a very special VIP to celebrate a massive 12th happy birthday to Anthony from Ithaca, New York. We hope your big day is flying high. Now that we've celebrated our VIPs, let's get down to business. Let's get ready to rumble with the first kids round.[00:01:00] 

Question one. What famous brothers are credited with inventing and flying the world's first successful airplane? And the answer is the Wright Brothers. Question two. What is the title of the person who drives or steers the airplane from the front cabin?

And the answer is a pilot. Question three, what are passengers told to buckle during a flight? Especially if the plane gets bumpy and the answer is their seatbelt? I always wear my seatbelt on the couch too, mostly so I don't accidentally get up and do chores.

Question four. What part of the airplane is shaped specifically to catch the air and lift the plane up as it moves forward? And the answer is the wings. Question [00:02:00] five, what are the powerful spinning machines attached under the wings that pushed the airplane forward through the air? And the answer is the engine.

Question six, what do you call the special road or path that airplanes drive on to take off and land at an airport? And the answer is the runway. Question seven, when you bring a small backpack or suitcase onto the airplane to keep under your seat, what is it called? And the answer is, carry on luggage.

Question eight, what is the front part of the plane called? Where the pilot and co-pilot sit to fly the aircraft? And the answer is the cockpit. I asked if I could sit in the cockpit once, but apparently just having a cool leather pilot jacket [00:03:00] isn't enough of a qualification. Question nine, who are the people walking up and down the aisles helping passengers, serving snacks and making sure everyone is safe?

And the answer is flight attendants. Question 10. What invisible force pulls the airplane down toward Earth, which the plane's wings have to fight against to fly, and the answer is gravity. All right, parents, are you ready for round two today we are blasting off into the atmosphere with some nineties and two thousands travel and space nostalgia kids.

Let's sit back and watch those parents do their work. Question one. In the 1995 movie, Apollo 13, Tom Hanks delivers what iconic line to let Mission Control know there is an emergency.[00:04:00]

What is the name of this giant floating science lab? And the answer is the International Space Station. Question seven. What was the name of the famous Supersonic passenger jet that made its final commercial flight in 2003, traveling from New York to London in under three hours?

And the answer is Independence Day. Question nine, released in 2001. What was the first Apple device that let you travel the world with a thousand songs in your pocket?

And the answer is the iPod. I thought I was so cool with my iPod right up until I dropped it and had to listen to the exact same three smash mouth songs for a year. Question 10. What popular nineties computer game series taught us geography by challenging us to track down a famous thief in a red trench coat across the globe?

We've got two rounds in the book, and it's on to the rumble round. This round is all about decoding famous airport abbreviations and putting your geography skills to the test. First a shout out. The answer is the winner. Question one. If your plane ticket says you are landing at MCO, what? Sunny Florida City, home to Disney World are you in?

And the answer is Orlando. Question two, if you are flying into LAX, what major movie making California City are you visiting? And the answer is Los Angeles. Question three, what giant country has 50 states and is located right underneath Canada? And the answer is. The United States of America. Question four, if your baggage tag says ORD, [00:08:00] you are flying into O'Hare International Airport.

In what? Windy, Midwest City,

and the answer is Chicago. I've spent more time walking between terminals at O'Hare than I have actually being on vacation. Question five. If you fly to the airport code LHR, you are landing at Heathrow Airport in the capital city of England. What city is it? And the answer is London. Question six, what is the name of the giant body of salt water you would fly over to get from New York to London?

And the answer is the Atlantic Ocean. Question seven, if your plane lands at LGA, you are arriving in what major bustling East Coast American City I,[00:09:00] 

and the answer is New York City. Question eight, the airport code. HNL takes you to Honolulu, which is the capital of what tropical US state,

and the answer is Hawaii. I'd love to fly to Hawaii, but my sunscreen budget alone would bankrupt me. Question nine, if you fly into the airport code CDG, you are landing at Charles Dega airport in what famous French city with the Eiffel Tower. And the answer is Paris. And the final question, what imaginary line divides the earth into the Northern and southern hemispheres and is known for having a very hot climate?
